Literacy Volunteers of Pascack Valley (LVPV) empowers participating libraries with the tools, training, and support they need to build and manage a successful English as a Second Language (ESL) tutoring program. Our certified Literacy Volunteers trainers provide tutor training and ongoing support—completely free of charge. Tutoring sessions are held conveniently at your library or any affiliated location.

LVPV offers participating libraries:

• Tutor Training Workshops throughout the year, taught by certified trainers
• Group language and conversation classes for their community
• Access to a core collection of ESL materials, weekly and monthly newspapers appropriate for tutors and students
• Tools for members to recruit volunteer tutors to be trained and supported by LVPV staff
• Training and tools for members to easily manage their own ESL program
• Ongoing support for Tutors, including scheduled Tutor Roundtables
• Statistical data collection and program marketing support
