Meet Our New Assistant Coordinator

Gail is looking forward to beginning her role as Assistant Coordinator in September. She is a 28 year resident of Westwood and has a long history with the library, both with her two children growing up and now as a frequent visitor with her husband. In her spare time Gail enjoys reading and yoga.

Are you looking to improve your English skills? We’re here to help!

The Literacy Volunteers of Pascack Valley offers free, one-on-one English tutoring for adults in our community. Whether you're just starting to learn English or want to improve your speaking, listening, reading, or writing, our dedicated volunteers will work with you to support your goals.

Students must live in one of the participating towns (see list above) to be eligible for tutoring.

Make a Difference—Teach English in Your Community! 

​Looking for a meaningful way to give back? Volunteer as an English tutor and help someone gain confidence in their language skills! No prior teaching experience is required, just a willingness to help and learn.

Join our online workshop to get started! Our next session dates will be January 6, 13, 20 and 27, 2026 from 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM. Attendance at all four sessions is required.
