Become A Tutor and Make A Difference with LVPV

Want to make a difference in someone’s life? Join us as a volunteer ESL tutor and help adult learners in your community improve their English skills. Literacy Volunteers of Pascack Valley (LVPV) offers a free, four-session tutor training workshop, led by certified Literacy Volunteers trainers. No prior teaching experience is necessary—just a desire to help and a willingness to learn!

Once you complete the training, LVPV will match you with a student in your local area.

Tutoring sessions take place either in-person or online, depending on you and your student's agreed upon preference. You’ll receive ongoing support from program coordinators, who are always available to offer guidance, answer questions, and share ideas.

LVPV also provides access to a wide variety of teaching materials and resources to help you plan effective, engaging lessons.
