Literacy Volunteers of Pascack Valley (LVPV) empowers participating libraries with the tools, training, and support they need to build and manage a successful English as a Second Language (ESL) tutoring program. Our certified Literacy Volunteers trainers provide tutor training and ongoing support. Tutoring sessions are held conveniently at your library or any affiliated location. |
LVPV offers participating libraries:
- Tutor Training Workshops throughout the year, taught by certified trainers
- Group language and conversation classes for their community
- Access to a core collection of ESL materials, weekly and monthly newspapers appropriate for tutors and students
- Tools for members to recruit volunteer tutors to be trained and supported by LVPV staff
- Training and tools for members to easily manage their own ESL program
- Ongoing support for Tutors, including scheduled Tutor Roundtables
- Statistical data collection and program marketing support
